Vacation Recap {+ Marathon Training Update #2}

Happy Thursday everyone!

I’m so glad this week is a short week of work for me.  Vacation was nice and relaxing and we were able to spend quite a bit of time outside.  We went canoeing AND kayaking, and I also was able to get a great training run in on Tuesday morning with my brother (5 miles at an 8:27/mile average pace!). 🙂

The weather was really nice the whole time, the pics I took were of course when a cloud decided to cover the sun, but honestly…the weather was beautiful!

I also miss my family very much! Especially my sisters!

My youngest sister sent me a snapchat yesterday informing me of how much she misses me. Too cute for words!

Last Week’s Training

Marathon training last week went extremely well!  I kept up a good pace and actually put in more miles than planned.  I keep a running log and last week was one of my highest mileage weeks since the winter.  I’m feeling good and have no injuries thus far! (fingers crossed!)

  • Monday – Rest
  • Tuesday – 4 miles (last mile consisted of hill sprint repeats)
  • Wednesday – 8 miles (comfortable pace)
  • Thursday – 4 miles
  • Friday – Rest
  • Saturday – 16 miles (long run, easier pace)
  • Sunday – 3 miles (recovery run)

Weekly Mileage- 35 miles

Last week was by far one of the biggest breakthroughs in my marathon training journey because I felt good and increased my mileage without injury.  I was just really tired by the end of the week, but nothing a nap and snack every 2 hours won’t fix. 🙂

That’s all for today folks! I hope the end of your week treats you well.  And as always, don’t forget to like and share my blog with all or your friends.
