Happy Thursday! Today is a really busy day for me and I’m excited to see what comes of all that I’ve got going! But, enough of me…let’s talk running! Because this is a running/lifestyle blog…of course!
I took some time to think of reasons you should get out and go for a run. Something that might get you motivated to run and continue your training. OR if you are a beginner or haven’t gone on a run ever, hopefully it might inspire you to just get out and take a few more steps. (I mean you could win those Fitbit bets that you’re taking part of if you start running 😉 )
Anyways, I hope you enjoy some reasons you should get out and run!
(Disclaimer: I am not a registered dietitian, doctor, sport psychologist, athletic trainer etc. The following are my own opinions from my personal running experiences)
3 Reasons You Should Get Out and Run
1. You get to enjoy the great outdoors!
This is assuming that you actually go outside to run and not the treadmill. But, even if you are a huge treadmill runner, you should go outside every once in a while and enjoy some fresh air! Fresh air is good for you! You’ll get some Vitamin D from the sun, which helps promote calcium absorption, and leads to healthy bones. Who wouldn’t want that?! Am I right!?
2. People will think you’re a beast!
Okay, so this one is a little vain. And I’m going to throw it out there because we all need a little bit of an ego boost sometimes. Ha. But, what do you usually think when you’re driving down the road and see someone running? I’m usually thinking, “man I need to get out and do my run today” or “gosh, that person’s probably on their 10th mile, they’re a beast!” You run outside and boom! #beastmode Like, instantly! 😉
3. You’ll feel really great after the run!
You can run 1 mile or 10 miles, it really doesn’t matter. But, I promise you after you are finished with the run you will feel better than before the run. If you’re out of shape you will feel like you are dying during the run, but afterwards you will feel ready to conquer the world. You will feel so accomplished and physically just good! Running is a huge physical and mental exercise and I personally think that the benefits outweigh any of disadvantages.
Well, those are my 3 reasons and you can take them with a grain of salt. I just wanted to write something fun and lighthearted. There are so many other reasons I could think of, these were some that just popped into my mind first. 🙂
